Kenya Music Week 2013 will be held from December 12-15, at the Sarit Centre Expo Hall in Westlands, Nairobi. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the first Music Week held in 2004.
Bruce Odhiambo, deputy executive director of Kenya @ 50 has also announced that Kenya Music Week will ben an official Kenya @50 event. Admission to the event is free to members of the public. Attendees can expect music and performances around the theme of Kenya’s musical evolution through 50 years of independence.
The goal of Kenya Music Week is to offer a venue for Kenya musicians to connect with the public and market their goods and services. The event also provides opportunities for professional musicians, producers, promoters, distributors, media, government & NGOs to network and create solutions for to industry problems.
At Kenya Music Week, music industry professionals can also brush up their skills by attending workshops on various topics including business and copyright protection laws.
